I would like to thank OMNRF Minister Yakabuski for proposing to reduce the minimum distance bait requirement from a traveled roadway from 200 meters to 30 meters.There is no such restriction when hunting moose, deer, or imposed on registered trappers when harvesting furbearing mammals in Ontario.This was nothing more than a penalty imposed on all Ontario Sportsman.

This change will make bear hunting a safer sport and provide additional hunting opportunities for the handicap,veterans and aging sportsmen and women.

The Sportsmen and Women in Ontario appreciate your common sense approach to a problem and will continue to support you.
