Greetings. I have been buying a season pass and using this park for 10 yrs. We launch our boat here. I cannot begin to tell you what I have witnessed at the launch. It is massively unsafe as is, and I have written to the park previously on this. Ontario Parks must erect a break wall extending out at the launch. A dock system is absolutely required for launching. You cannot charge for boat launch and offer the current unsafe status. I have seen folks young and old almost drown here. The current, with no dock, makes it very difficult to retrieve properly. I have personally helped at least 10 folks who were clearly in trouble here. The last was an older gentleman, wife on board, trying to launch. He was up to his chest and headed down river when I jumped in to help him back to shore.
Also, why are there no park staff in sight at the launch..NONE. On weekends, this is totally unacceptable. They used to be there years ago. I paid 20 twice last yr at Penetang even with season pass... two staffers helped and it was totally calm and safe.
This needs action NOW.
