I ran the Natural Heritage Education Program in the recent past.

I would like to point out that in the Background Document there is no reference to the prescribed burn that took place in 2004. The current Discovery Leader at WBPP now has a multiple page document from that time period describing that burn and can be referenced. The Burn Report will cover why, how and results. You may want to add reference to this in case prescribed burning is ever attempted again. I believe this would fall under 4.1.1.4 within your document.

In terms of the smaller document, 3.1, can we include all? All are relevant!

In terms of 3.2, can we include all? All are relevant!

I believe that there should be NO overnight accommodation.

I believe that the Beach Areas should remain numbered or named as they currently are. Social media etc calls them as such and it would take longer than in the past to get people used to renaming. Also there are greater numbers of people present using the current names.

The paths question is too open ended. The paths are very situational. In regards to number of 'footpaths', I would decrease the number where appropriate and also narrow them to 2m. The larger access points, for ambulances and park vehicles, should remain as they are for numbers and placement. Although high water levels this year show that placement must also change sometimes!

I would make the park a Natural Environment Park. I am slightly biased coming from the natural environment direction (but am also a believer in accessible recreation). I am hoping that by being Natural Environment, there might be more funding for both the resource management/species at risk/beach stewardship programs and the education programs. It is a growing town and compliance and respect of the natural environment comes from awareness and understanding, which is through education. I am not worried about how the reclassification would impact the majority of park visitors and their recreational experience due to my experiences in Natural Environment Parks.
