I have reviewed the proposed changes to the act and I have been following the Aggregate discussions over the years as they pertain to north’s Ontario.

I want to ensure that any proposed changes to the act include the following

Act to include lands in northern Ontario, both private and crown

Act to protect agricultural properties from being lost due to aggregate values

Act to allow neighbouring municipalities to comment when an application to extract below the water table is filed

Act to allow the neighbouring municipalities to comment when applications are received for extraction on crown lands and that the province is not considered the municipality under crown land applications

Act to comment that the province assumes liability for crown land extraction where neighbouring municipalities already caused hardship
