The modernization of the Mining Act has greatly enhanced the safeguards and accountability within the exploration industry. Throughout the process, all interests were present and represented. The Mining Act as developed has reached a very good balance between the necessity to develop the wealth of the mineral resources and the preservation of unique areas. The process addresses all interests and leaves opportunity for voicing concerns at each stage as projects develop. Sudbury's ingenuity in mining is cited for advances and developments in environmental protection seemingly every year, and we have every confidence that should development and or mining occur on Flag's mining leases, that it will be undertaken with the high standards that the industry itself is actively fine tuning.
We feel that the project and indeed the Permitting should be allowed to proceed and that Flag Resources should be able to operate within the bounds of the Mining Act.
