I am in support of the mineral exploration work proposed by Flag Resources (1985) Limited in Mackelcan Township. Mineral exploration work by companies like Flag Resources Limited is important to the economic growth of communities in the north; bringing jobs and investment to our resource-based communities.

Flag Resources is proposing to use existing infrastructure to conduct their mineral exploration work, minimising their impact on the area.

Prospecting and mineral exploration must be allowed to continue on existing mining claims and leases, provided Mining Act obligations are met or exceeded. Revoking or denying prospecting and mineral exploration activities where claims and leases already exist will create uncertainty in the industry and decrease the appeal of Ontario as a premier mineral exploration region.
