Wolf Lake has been scientifically endorsed as the largest contiguous old-growth red pine forest in North America. Wolf Lake's old-growth forest should be protected as parkland, not open for mining activity. This is part of a continuous ecosystem and any activity that takes place will have a ripple effect on the surrounding Chiniguchi Waterway Provincial Park. I recognize that mining is an integral part of the Canadian economy and required in many attributes of my day to day life. But it is clear to see that the Wolf Lake forest reserve should have become part of the larger Chiniguchi Waterway Provincial Park and a permanently protected area in 1999 when the government first committed to protection. Every government has a different promise and removes the work of the previous I implore you to do the right thing and finally protect Wolf Lake from further exploitation. You can see right there in Sudbury the effects of exploitation on the environment and the years and funding required to "fix it". Don't let this be another issue you have to apologize for in the future or fix. Please protect the area.
