I live adjacent to numerous aggregate pits in Puslinch. It is my understanding that there are proposed changes to how the Aggregate Companies will be able to Operate:
- The Municipalities will not be able to enforce the Site Plans. If not them then who will keep the Aggregate Companies in check?
- Vertical Zoning Bylaws - who will be controlling and enforcing the depths of these pits?
- Who will define the aggregate haul routes and then who will pay to maintain these roads exposed to these heavy trucks?
- Aggregate levies must increase to support the Municipalities who are expected to support the infrastructure for these activities
These Aggregate Companies do not follow any set of rules whatsoever because there is no policing body to challenge them. When they are operating outside of their agreements who do we call? Who goes to the Pits and inspects the operation based on the Site Plan issued?
