I would like to comment that I strongly support the proposed exemption of waterpower facilities from the requirement of a Permit to Take Water under the Ontario Water Resources Act. We have seen during projects for waterpower how the need to obtain a PTTW for operations simply adds yet another layer of costs and processes without adding any additional value. Since provisions in the Lakes and Rivers Improvement Act is proposed to be a one window approach, I think that will be a more effective regulatory process and will improve efficiency. I encourage the province to move forward with this change.
