Commentaire
The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks has the clear and primary responsibility to protect the environment and human life, as clearly stated in both the Environmental Protection Act and the Environmental Assessment Act.
This proposal therefore contravenes these requirements and would not be in Ontarians' interests for the MECP to no longer take the lead in assessing Permit to Take Water applications.
This entire proposal should therefore be abandoned.
