I am a member of Innisfree Limited at De Grassi Point which along with four other sets of landowners is part of approximately 400 acres of land, all of which are held for recreation and conservation purposes. These lands form an ideal connection to the existing Greenbelt, and if protected, would help protect Lake Simcoe's shoreline and water quality.
The population of Lefroy is projected to double within the next 10 years with encroachment on these conservations lands already taking place. Expansion north towards Alcona, south to the 3rd line, and on both sides of the 20th sideroad will create significant hardening of land surfaces, negatively impacting Lake Simcoe. I support the extension of the existing Greenbelt lands to come up to and include our property and that the agricultural lands surrounding Gilford extending west to Innisfil sidereal be included in the Greenbelt. It is essential to protect our forests, wetlands, drinking water, farms and ecological health for future generations.
