Please support an extension on the current moratorium on water bottling permits. I believe this moratorium should be extended five years to allow the following work to take place:

1. Require a full Environmental Assessment of any project that proposes to commodify public resources - especially water;
2. Bring in regulations to phase out water bottling permits entirely;
3. Bring in regulations and tough environmental laws to ensure continued public ownership of water management systems, including well-heads.

Access to clean water should be a human right. Ontario has the opportunity to lead the way as a jurisdiction that puts its citizens first, ahead of corporate interests in our basic resources. It is entirely unacceptable that we continue to allow the packaging and shipping of our aquifier water to other areas of North America.

Please consider the future environment we are leaving for our children and grandchildren. The need for access to clean drinking water will be just as important in the future as it is to us in the present.
