I fully support the proposal…

I fully support the proposal to extend the moratorium on new permits for bottled water production facilities until next October.

It is a step in the right direction. Water is our most valuable resource - it belongs to the public. It is not a commodity to be sold for profit. In addition, the plastic pollution produced by the bottled water industry must be stopped.

Taking drinking water to sell when communities within Ontario do not have access to clean water to drink is unacceptable.

Protecting our water for Ontarians now and in the future must be the focus of this government.

I ask this government to phase out all permits to bottle water in the province.
