ERO Number 019-0880 I have read the proposal and nowhere has there been mention of environmental assessment and therefore impact on wildlife and flora, indigenous to forested areas. Reducing regulations for companies in the forestry industry only widens the gap for abuse or misappropriation of forest goods. Has this government not learned lessons from many other nations regarding deforestation? We need our forests not just to 'bulk up the almighty dollar' but for cleansing the air, providing protection from inclement weather, homeland for flora and fauna, and sacred lands for Native Peoples, which I would consider the latter being our greatest priority. Our....as in the people of Ontario--not just the bureaucrats in Queen's Park.
