The application for rezoning this lot requires a lot more research. The current application has misrepresented the the massive operation that will be able to operate on this site if the current site plan is approved. The massive potential for damage that historically leaves the township owning a contaminated lot with a massive clean up hits home here. While the owners took millions a year for many years they are happy to forfeit ownership and walk away. We have 2 other contaminated sites in our township that neither the ministry or the township have been able to get cleaned up or rehabilitated as per their plan. When asked neither will take responsibility and neither can enforce. What is the long term cost to the township and us the tax payers. Lets get answers and solutions to our existing problems before rezoning any more prime agricultural land in this township.
The current plan in place for this site and the reports offered so far from the applicant leave myself and my experts questioning almost every section on this application as only representing 20 percent of the operation not a 100 percent operation as lined out with full holidays and 11 pm if they have a contract.
The closeness to homes, the hydrogeological report, daily water consumption estimates, noise levels and proximity to homes in Shingletown are all a major impact on the community.
