My wife and I own three private woodlots in the Sharbot Lake area totalling 665 acres in area. Two of these woodlots are registered under MFTIP with approved managed forest plans; the third, which was acquired in December 2019, is in the process of being registered under MFTIP.

It is very important to us that the Government of Ontario continue to provide funding to the Ontario Woodlot Association. This organization, through its quarterly publication (The Ontario Woodlander), its workshops run by the local Limestone Chapter, and its informational emails has been a godsend to us in terms of understanding how to develop woodlots that can be harvested sustainably, how to protect the environment when maintaining our forests, and how to identify and control invasive species.
