The proposed amendment will make it even easier to establish new mine operations and grow existing mines. The amendment will make it easier by removing a number of important considerations during the reporting and permitting phase. The Natural Environment section and Cultural Heritage section are lacking significant information and structure. Economic development is important but not at the expense of our environment. Development and progress can be done without pillaging the environment. I would like to see the natural environment, cultural heritage and agricultural impact section expanded to include more insight into the possible impacts that extraction activities could have on them. Cumulative impacts of several mines in a given area should be given due consideration and play a role in approvals.
