Together with my entire family, we are strongly opposed to the subject proposal for anaerobic digester facility at 633 Coronation Drive, Scarborough, Ontario that will emit hazardous gases and compounds to the environment where our home is located. We live 15 minutes walk away from the facility. When we do our outdoor physical activities, with the existing industrial facilities we can already inhale hazardous gases and that will be even compounded if an anaerobic digester facility will be allowed in the area. We are not subject-matter experts but based on what we have read and what we learned about the greenhouse gases emissions we know that it would have detrimental effects to the environment and to the health of the people living in the area. We have migrated to Canada 10 years ago in search for a better future for our children and we have used up our savings to be able to buy a house in the area. With the transportation of waste to the area, the quality of air will be affected, there will be more noise and dirt, hazardous gases and elements that will flow in the air. This proposal will have severe health, environmental, and financial (this would negatively impact the value of properties in the area) impact to us and the other people living in the area. The housing developments were allowed in the area and that should be given complete consideration when evaluating what can be built in the area. What is good for the people and the environment should always come first. Please don't allow us to become sacrificial lambs for whatever positive impact is expected from this proposal.
