Municipality of Brighton Resolution No. CPL.2020-45
THAT prior to July 31st, 2020, staff be directed to submit the following wording to the Environmental Registry of Ontario (ERO) in response to the ERO posting Number 019- 1679 (proposed changes to Land Needs Assessment Methodology for the Greater Golden Horseshoe that implements A Place to Grow: Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe (“The Plan”):
“The Council of the Municipality of Brighton generally supports a simplified and flexible approach to land needs assessment, including the option of addressing Provincial assumptions regarding growth. For example, the location of Brighton along the easterly boundary of Northumberland County is subject to influences both within the GGH and from outside of it (i.e. the Cities of Quinte West and Belleville are influencing factors to Brighton’s growth). Further, the Council of the Municipality of Brighton supports municipalities being offered the choice of phasing their municipal comprehensive review or achieving conformity as part of one single new official plan or a plan amendment.”
