The MTO West Transportation Corridor EA is an Individual EA. Stage 1 of the EA has been completed and Stage 2 is underway. It is not clear how the proposed regulation for a streamlined EA process will be incorporated into the existing MTO West Transportation Corridor project since the EA is already underway and does not follow the MTO Class EA process. Please specify the proposed modification to the existing EA process for the GTA West Transportation Corridor. Please outline how the new EA process differs from the old process for this particular project.

According to the Proposed regulation for a streamlined environmental assessment process for the Ministry of Transportation’s Greater Toronto Area West Transportation Corridor project, “the proposed regulation will eliminate duplication with other planning and approvals processes and as a result, shortening timelines for building important infrastructure”. Please specify how timelines will be shortened for the MTO West Transportation Corridor EA.
