I would like to comment on the proposed deletion of the wild take draw. It is my opinion that this is a great move forward for Ontario falconers; birds are made available to all apprentice falconers and can be easily released at the end of the hunting season should one desire. The club has put in extensive hrs by dedicated members to understand the goshawk population here in Ontario and with such accurate and timely data it's time to allow goshawks to be included in wild take. Falconry and interest in birds of prey spans many segments of the population providing a true essence of conservation for young and old alike. The more falconers we have in Ontario will garner more grass roots interest and care for all birds of prey here in the province.
