Using wild birds for falconry is a win-win situation. The birds, that under normal circumstances have a high chance of dying during their first year, are taken care of and taught to hunt in situations they may not normally perfect on their own. The falconer can release the bird back into the wild after a period of time, knowing that that bird will have a higher chance at survival due to the hunting skills and the care they received as a falconry bird. As a result, the breeding stock in the wild is strengthened and in return can produce better offspring.
