I am opposed to this…

I am opposed to this proposal to expand the capture of wild raptors for the purpose of falconry. I am a long time participant of the Holiday Beach Hawk Watch, regional coordinator for the past two Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas projects and president of Essex County Field Naturalists’ Club. There is no evidence of secure populations in Northern Goshawk or Sharp-shinned Hawk in Ontario and it would not be appropriate to expand the take of either species.
