In light of water trading on the NYSE and climate change, we need to protect our water more than ever. The priorities must have teeth and enforcement and oversight. Who will be watching and monitoring regularly? The Ministry ought to be but needs the resources and expertise to do so and needs a budget that allows proper oversight.
For water stressed areas the 379,000 litres per day without municipal feedback is far too much.
What happened to transparency of data? That was a good idea but I no longer see it here. We need to have some access to up to date information on water taking and use.
Thank you for bringing the regulations more in line with present realities. We have some idea how precious water is and will continue to be.
