The following comment was submitted to Premier Ford and MPP Gill who in turn advised me to forward to your department:
“I am not in favour of that. I believe in governing for the people. And when the people don’t want something you don’t do it. It’s very simple. I know the Mayor he don’t want it, no one wants it. I don’t want it. We are going to make sure it doesn’t happen one way or another”.

Given this statement from the Premier, surely there must be a more direct option other than a pricey and lengthy environmental assessment, possibly a Minsters Zoning Order (MZO). With the recent negative outcome with the CN intermodal proposal, even though it was determined there was a serious health risk to the public, the Federal government approved it anyway. This does not give one much confidence in the process.
The town of Milton, along with the region, and Conservation Halton, is also opposed to the quarry.
As George Minakakis has previously stated, we are waiting for the Premier to follow through on his commitment and make the final announcement that stops the Campbellville quarry.
Call me a cynic, but I can just see this thing ending up in favour of the proponent and our elected officials say “well we followed due process, don’t blame us”
