Something that needs to be considered is approaching installation of turbines as a community investment.
Presently a corporation moves into an area signing up the land owners disregarding home owners in the immediate area who may not want them. There is acrimony and very bad neighbour relationships result.
NON PROFIT MUNICIPAL OWNERSHIP
I suugest that a town invests in the number of turbines or solar panels to power that community in a municipal non profit arrangement. Imagine being offered electricity at cost instead of paying a foreign corporation huge profits. The cost could be a separate charge attached to the tax bill paid over an appropriate number of years to make it affordable. A municipal bond could be offered to the owners first so that they get a double bang for the buck. 1. Cheaper power. 2. Shares in an interest bearing bond.
Imagine these independent power centres all over the province....loved not hated because ownership vests people in the project.
