Although I fully support al aspects of this proposal, I am dubious about the future of these new greenbelt area in view of the cavalier manner that the Ford government takes about environmental issues. It seems that there is more concern about appeasing land developers and supporters of the Ontario Conservative Party (the adjective 'Progressive' has been intentionally omitted as it no longer applies to that party) rather than adopt environmental protection measures.

My thoughts on the initial focus area of the Study Area of the Paris Galt Moraine? In view of the dynamic expansion of development in the Guelph-Cambridge-Brantford areas, this study area is very opportune and much needed.

Considerations in moving from a Study Area to a more defined boundary of the Paris Galt Moraine? The determination of a defined boundary MUST be made in consultation with the nearby cities and any of the Conservation Authorities. Since there will not be unanimous agreement on any boundaries the final decision must be in accordance with the wishes of the organization that has developed comprehensive action plans about the environment (as well as flood plains) - namely the Conservation Authorities.

Thoughts on the initial focus area of adding, expanding and further protecting Urban River Valleys? The next focus area should be in Durham where development has been occurring at an exponential rate over the past 20 years.

Suggestions for other potential areas to grow the Greenbelt? It is difficult to prioritize areas in Simcoe or Northumberland. Any developing areas near a major body of water should be given close consideration. They are all important

To balance or prioritize any potential Greenbelt expansion with the other provincial priorities mentioned above? Whereas development can occur anywhere emphasis MUST be placed on areas near major bodies of water - including rivers and wetlands. Water is vital to human health, animal health, farms and forests. Policies must be established to protect natural water resources.

Other priorities that should be considered. There is enough to consider when concentrating on the environment and water resources - without adding more issues.
