We need to at least double the size of the Green Belt immediately. None of the current Green Belt should be touched in any way especially wetlands like the recent development east of Toronto proposed. Ministerial Orders should be banned. Zoning should be made far tougher. We need to protect the environment not let developers influence the Provincial Goverment. The Oak Ridges Moraine, Niagara Escarpment, all valleys, ravines and flood plans should never be touched plus old-growth forests or environmentally sensitive areas. The 413 Highway should be scrapped. Conservation Authorities need more authority not less. The Great Lakes and Lake Simcoe are threatened by development. Development needs to be away from rich farming areas. Cities like Sault Ste Marie need population growth not King City for example.
