Commentaire
As per the attached document, this comment is submitted on behalf of the Joint Working Group - Wesleyville, a volunteer conservation committee supporting local conservation land trusts and conservation organizations. The submission makes the case for inclusion of the Wesleyville lands east of the Greenbelt boundary along the Lake Ontario shoreline for the following key reasons:
1. proximity to the eastern boundary at Durham Region along the shoreline of Lake Ontario.
2. ecological significance of the Wesleyville lands that include the Wesleyville Marsh (coastal wetlands), Wesleyville Ravines, and Wesleyville Creek, with specific areas designated as ANSI and PSW.
3. proximity and opportunity to link with proposed Port Granby Nature Reserve (federal lands) and the Greenbelt area along the Oak Ridges Moraine/Rice Lake Plains
details provided in the attached.
