Miller Boyington Pit 3 Site Plan Development Application

Concerns:
• Water – Miller Paving Limited cannot guarantee that the aquifer supplying our wells is not polluted by their fill. Neither an independent fill approval process nor Miller’s proposed self monitoring test methodology would have the veracity required to determine if a fill load is 100% clean.
• Air Quality – Today, Miller’s asphalt plant emits pollutants accompanied by a foul odour. The odour makes outdoor work unpleasant, and the emitted black soot soils our limestone window ledges and walkway. What are Millers current emissions doing to our health? Adding idling trucks will further diminish air quality.
• Noise Pollution - Adding 99+ heavy trucks per day will significantly add to the thrum of Lakeridge Rd. traffic noise. Further diminishing our enjoyment of our outdoor space.
• Roads - 99+ trucks per day significantly increases local traffic. The proposed volume of trucks will impede the flow of local traffic, soil roads and damage roads. Truck drivers will use our light traffic residential roads due to route congestion. Egress to our residential properties will become an issue.
• Property depreciation – Nature of our residential area will change from a green area to a high traffic commercial space. Residential property depreciation will negatively impact Uxbridge’s tax revenues.

Miller's history of site non-compliance and their failure to have initiated environmental site restoration work foretells Miller's future relationship with Uxbridge council and local home owners.

The Miller Boyington Pit 3 Site Plan should not be approved. Council should direct Miller to perform the environmental work required to restore and close the pit.
