To say that "Prioritizing renewable generation is no longer appropriate" is, well, inappropriate! Climate action should be #1 in your Mission, Vision and Principles of operation. Policy must be 'seen to be done'.

Industry will not police itself to fulfill climate goals. Industry has priorities - like short-termism, profit taking, and ratepayers/shareholder priority, that are in conflict with climate accountability.

Not supporting a clear and consistent message about these goals is an abrogation of responsibility by the governments at all levels. There must be leadership to protect future generations, not just the government of the day's ideological handcuffs protecting business and pandering to a corporate agenda.

It is not a zero sum game. Promoting renewables doesn't exclude other innovations and system changes.
