As a resident and taxpayer…

As a resident and taxpayer in York Region, I find this Act and proposal ill advised.
York completed this assessment at great cost and the minister, many ministers actually, failed to make a decision even though the ministry staff review released found no concerns with the assessment as conducted.

To now claim a panel must be appointed to review this work is outrageous. The delays caused by years of inaction and then to propose further delay is detrimental to the residents and employers in the communities waiting on this servicing to permit housing to proceed.

The ministry must provide clear and detailed rationale as to the specific environmental concerns with the solution as proposed that warrant this new approach and in the absence of substantial concerns the minister must make a decision on the assessment. The explanation given with this posting is insufficient.

A very disappointing, proposal by this government.
