Burning trees to produce electricity is the wrong approach. Ontario needs to focus on efficiency measures and conservation first and not create new problems with the use of increased biomass for electricity. As the globe heats up we need to preserve Ontario forests for oxygen production, recreation and to maintain healthy ecosystems for all living things. Additionally we need to focus on non polluting forms of electricity generation, especially wind, solar, biogas and hydroelectric - not nuclear, gas or coal.
