There have been numerous reports that the climate is going to be extremely challenging from an inhabitable standpoint by 2030. Use this to set the stage for your climate change plan.
What I liked about the existing program was that homeowners and citizens were provided incentives to go green to help save the planet. Companies were given stiff financial penalties for "over-pollution". I believe that having a sustainable climate change program is important for our future generations, the future of Ontario and Canada. I believe that it's money well spent if companies and Ontario inhabitants are offered incentives to gain buy-in for the program.
Suggestions: educating the general public and the commercial communities on what they're doing to the environment, including ways they can change (big and small!) and the impact that will have. Talk about what the Ontario, and Canadian, governments are doing to help combat climate change - be accountable and transparent. The important piece is to get buy-in - that's the only way the program can be supported by the populace and sustained.
Bottom line is that we need a plan.
