Cancelling the cap and trade…

Cancelling the cap and trade program is about the worst possible thing that the Ford government could do with respect to mitigating climate impacts. Firstly this is an ideologically driven agenda item, not founded in good governance, or actual real world interest, considering that the impacts of climate change are already occurring planet wide. To add insult by setting aside 30Million to fight this in court is the most abusive waste of taxpayer dollars I have ever seen. In my own community the funds allocated through cap and trade is creating jobs, improving infrastructure, adding infrastructure for cycling and better pedestrian use. To rip our already completed or close to completed wind farm turbines, cancelling renewable energy projects shows complete disregard for OUR money that has been spent already on these projects. How dare you complain about a cancelled gas plant while showing complete disregard for the money spent on renewable energy projects and shutting them down. Businesses were growing, those who were working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions have been snubbed and those businesses who were on board with the program with credits have been left. I absolutely DO NOT AGREE with this Act or the motivations behind it.
