This bill is a very, very bad idea. It demonstrates that the new Ontario government has no plan whatsoever to deal in a serious and effective way with carbon emissions or to meet any Canadian or international targets. It has been shown that a carbon tax in whatever form will produce economic benefits, including incentives, to Ontarians that well exceed any costs.
With only 40% voter support, Premier Ford and his false majority government has no mandate from Ontario citizens to continue with his anti-environment policies.
