I am not in favour of the carbon tax: I think other models that are not based on punishing consumers for purchasing what is still a vital necessity would be a more positive method. Perhaps, the PEI model can be looked into. In Canada, we need to heat our homes and in the suburbs not driving is not an option for many. In addition, I no longer trust the federal government to treat my tax dollars with the respect it deserves: Once they take it---it rarely comes back in any efficient form.
