Hello,
Protecting source water, including ground water and its filters (e.g., moraines) is what was so good about this proposal in the first place.
The developers and natural resource extractors are a voice, yes, and they do contribute to the economy. But there are more people that would benefit from clean water and access to nature than are associated with the development industries. These are individuals, of all incomes, colours, and stripes, who do not speak with one voice, they do not form a lobby group. The silent majority. It's not all about money and development, you know. That notion of "progress" is outdated by 50 years. Progress in governments means not leaving people behind to benefit an already-wealthy minority. It means not creating environmental problems now that won't be realized until 10 or 20 years from now. Clean water and access to nature is so important for everyone now and in the future.
