It is irresponsible for the government to ignore the very real effects of climate change by scrapping this act. As a Torontonian I feel the effects of climate change and carbon emissions every day through extreme weather, smog and pollution. The Ontario government should be working towards being a climate change leader, while improving the lives, health and wellness of its citizens and the planet as opposed to pandering to populist sentiment.

Keep Cap and Trade, and go even further. We need to invest in renewable, clean energy and get away from carbon emoting unsustainable resources. The time is now to work to reverse climate change - the world depends upon it.

We can do better.
