Cottages already in the park should be given five year term renewable leases. Lease amount should increase regularly upon renewal, and be based on the cottage and lot size.
A portion of the lease monies should be directed to the Municipality of Chatham-Kent which provides services including fire and ambulance.
Lease should include an annual park pass for one vehicle. Lease should be transferable to a new owner of the cottage.
Cottages should be subject to safety inspections and for proper sewage handling, as a condition for lease renewal.
Construction of a replacement cottage should be allowed within the footprint of the existing cottage building.
This is much better than periodically threatening to remove all the cottages which creates unnecessary uncertainty, poor public relations, and less maintenance and upkeep of cottages.
There should be no development of new cottage areas or lots.
