Dear Mr. Doug Ford,
It is not fair to blame the newcomers to Canada for your policies of environmental destruction and in the same time to fill the pockets of your millionaire developer friends.
I am sure that these houses built on pristine land will not be affordable to middle class citizens. It will cost million and millions of dollars to have one. For whom are you going to build them? For the minimum wage worker? Or for the newcomers? I very much doubt it.
Why don’t you find a different area with no impact on environment and leave the Greenbelt untouched?
In at least 2 occasions you backtrack your proposal to allow building houses in Greenbelt; you and your Housing Minister promised that you will protect and maintain this area.
“The people have spoken. I'm going to listen to them, they don't want me to touch the Greenbelt, we won't touch the Greenbelt,” you said in 2018 and 2020.
It is a shame what you are doing for the future generations and for all Ontarians.
