I find this move appalling…

I find this move appalling. We should be protecting the Green Belt at all costs, and the unchecked policies that led to urban sprawl will not lead to affordable housing - it will lead to the destruction of what decent farmland and flood mitigation we have in place so that a select few will cash in. This wreckless, short sighted behavior must stop. Our future depends on thinking of the impacts of our decisions for generations to come — we need to further density in our existing urban areas and use the lands we have set our efficiently. We need diversity of housing options. We need to let go of the ideas that have led to car reliance, sprawl and destruction of nature in favour of a future that fosters community, protects the environment and enhances our food security. We have foolishly built over farmlands in the past - let’s not keep making the same mistakes!
