This seems like a bandaid solution at best. We should not be removing any greenbelt land to develop residential or industrial properties; it defeats the whole purpose of having a protected greenbelt.
If you're going to remove certain parcels of the greenbelt, you may as well get rid of it all, since you'll be setting a terrible precedence on this matter.
