I am a young Ontarian, and I fear for the future looking at this proposal.

Ontario does have a housing crisis - I feel I will never be able to own a home. But the problem is NOT lack of available land to build on. All around me I see giant sprawling suburbs, where mid-density walkable neighbourhoods could be (that houses many more people in the same land).
Large parking lots take up available housing land as well, when we could come up with many better options (better public transit, more bike lanes, underground parking, etc). Not to mention that Ontario is BIG. We have space to expand, space outside the GTA.

Building on protected wetlands and forcing conservation authorities to ignore pollution and protection of wildlife is, to be frank, absurd. These lands are what keep all of Ontario more healthy and better set up for the future. Without them, we will cause irreversible damage to Ontario, including erosion and agriculture issues and increasing the speed of climate change.

Housing sucks right now, but you know what's worse? The nightmare future I'm facing as global warming sets in and destroys everything. We can at least mitigate it by not building on some of the little remaining greenspace we have.

Please, please, please. I speak for young Ontarians, I am crying out to save our future. This issue matters deeply to me. Protect the greenbelt. Don't pave over it for short term gain and destroy my future in the process. I want to have hope again.
