This is a bad idea. Wetlands provide valuable living space to many animal and bird species. We've already trashed too much of this planet in the name of development. I understand we need housing, but there are vacant/abandoned buildings, no longer used schools and a litany of parking lots that could be used to build affordable homes. If we continue on the path of environmental destruction, we'll have no need for houses or the economy because this planet will be uninhabitable and we will all perish. Give that your ear instead of your developer friends.
