I am against taking away or rezoning any and all lands in the Greenbelt. I am for adding more. It is absurd to build sprawling housing on the best land in Ontario. We have all of unfarmable rural Ontario for housing. The long term effects of building on arable land are extremely negative to the area and the province. People want and need their green space, and these areas help offset pollution. Our acceptable pollution levels are already many times those acceptable in other countries, it’s not time to take away whatever natural filtration we have left. Also, these places add to our cities, and we don’t want them ploughed over for concrete.
