This is a start of slippery slope. Green belt protection is in place to protect environmentally sensitive land in the province against urban development and sprawl. Ontario has great heritage sites within green belt and furthermore with the dramatic climate change, allowing to remove green belt is absolutely against Ontarian’s long term interests. This is against Canada’s value and commitment to climate change act. This should never be allowed. This proposal is very short sighted and strategically unsound.
