There are a number of specific issues of environmental concern that have not been addressed by the current proposal.
An environmental assessment has not been conducted that assesses the long term (2051+) implications of permanently paving over wetlands, water courses, and natural habitats in the area.
Under the current environmental assessment program the ministry is required to put a hold on this proposal until adequate impact assessments are carried out.
