This is an extremely shortsighted, greedy, and unsustainable decision for a government that has proven to be incompetent and unable to serve the people of Ontario with fair democratic process. The Greenbelt serves a very important purpose and the solution to our housing crisis does not lie in its destruction. There are millions of alternate solutions we could engineer to address housing shortages in and out of the GTA that would pave the way for a brighter future in this province, without destroying a key environmental protective zone that discourages suburban sprawl from creating classist resource deserts and unwalkable neighbourhoods. We need to be developing the neighbourhoods we have already built, providing citizens with walkable routes and mid-density living options in existing inner and outer suburbs.

The proposed destruction of the Greenbelt would prevent me from ever voting for the OPC again.
