It's not clear to me why the Greenbelt lands should be used for this purpose. Evidence seems overwhelming that we need more green space, more trees, and more biodiversity to be healthy.

From what I've read, adding density is the key to our population growth issues. Dealing with NIMBYism, zoning, development costs, transit and infrastructure would make a lot more sense. A more difficult solution, but one that's better for humans and the planet on which we live.
